Monday, January 23

Hello Class,

Tonight is our first time to actually meet each other. I am excited to see each of you and listen to your introduction speeches. Many of you confessed that you have some degree of anxiety about public speaking. You each listed ideas to address anxiety in your own way in the journal activity. This is a positive first step. As I told many, it is most important to prepare and practice. The first speech is all about you so just be yourself and relax.

After a few housekeeping notes I will let you get back to work.

First of all, week three is VERY busy in case you haven't noticed. Chapter 14 released today and the first exam should be completed be no later than Monday, February 6 at midnight.

Second, the module for the introduction speech has two post-presentation activities you will need to complete. You have an assigned partner and you will need to provide him/her feedback. You will also need to complete the self reflection journal. I will use the course email to share a video link of your video with you no later than Wednesday to assist you with this task.

Finally, you will need to select a topic for the informative speech. The chapter fourteen module has a discussion for you to post your topic selection. Don't delay too long as topics are first come, first serve.
